Loitta Fish or Bombay Duck is very delicate and soft fish and you must handle it with care. This has many thin hair-like bones all over the body which can be chewed easily. Loitta Fish has so many health benefits and contains Omega 3 and Proteins. It gives you a healthy heart by decreasing triglyceride levels in the blood.
Fresh Loitta Fish/Bombay Duck – 400 gms
Mustard Oil – 1/2 cup
Garlic – 1 table spoon chopped
Onion – 2 cup chopped
Tomato – 2 cup chopped
Red Chili powder – 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin powder – 1/2 tea spoon
Salt – as per taste
Ginger – 1 tea spoon paste
Fried onion crispy – 3 table spoon
Green chilies – 5 pcs
Fresh Coriander leaves – 3 table spoon chopped
Remove center bone and make fillet off the fishes
Wash in clean water and drain
On a Pan heat the oil in medium heat. Fry Garlic and Chopped Onions till they become soft. Now put the Ginger paste and fry little more.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until it becomes soft. Now add turmeric powder, cumin, red chili and salt. Mix well and cook a minute or so.
Add the fish pieces, green chilies and cook on medium heat for a while.
The fish will release enough water so don’t add any water,. Cook on medium heat until most of water dries out and oil is separated from the fish.
Now mix coriander leaves and fried onion. Cook 2 minutes.
Serve with rice.
